Local business schema generator

Fill in your business details and get ready-to-paste JSON-LD schema markup, the structured data Google and AI assistants use to understand who you are, where you are and when you're open.

1 · Business

Pick the most specific match. If yours isn't listed, use the general option for your category.

2 · Location

Especially useful for service-area businesses that travel to customers.

3 · Opening hours
4 · Profiles
5 · FAQs (optional)

Only add FAQs that also appear, word for word, on the page.

How to add schema to your website

  1. Fill in your details. Use exactly the same name, address and phone number as your Google Business Profile.
  2. Copy the code and paste it into the <head> of your homepage (or the page for that location).
  3. Test the page in Google's Rich Results Test and fix any errors.

WordPress

Most SEO plugins (Yoast, Rank Math, SEOPress) generate some schema already. Rather than duplicating it, use their local SEO settings or a "header scripts" plugin to add this block, and check the result in the Rich Results Test.

Service-area businesses

If you travel to customers and don't want your home address public, tick the option to leave out your street address and list the towns and cities you serve instead.

Keep it accurate

Schema must describe what's actually on the page and in the real world. Wrong hours or an old phone number does more harm than no schema at all, so update it whenever your details change.

What is local business schema?
Schema markup is structured data, a small block of code, that tells search engines and AI assistants exactly what your business is: its name, type, address, phone number, hours and the areas you serve. It removes the guesswork, which helps with local search, map results and AI answers.
Where do I put the schema code?
Paste the whole <script type="application/ld+json"> block into the <head> of your homepage, or the page about that location. In WordPress you can use a header-scripts plugin or your SEO plugin's custom schema option. It doesn't change how the page looks.
Does schema improve my rankings?
Schema isn't a direct ranking factor, but it helps Google understand and trust your business details, can make you eligible for richer search results, and gives AI assistants accurate facts to quote. It works best when it matches your Google Business Profile exactly.
Will FAQ schema show FAQs in Google results?
Probably not. Since 2023 Google only shows FAQ rich results for a small number of authoritative government and health sites. FAQ markup is still valid, and still helps AI assistants and other search engines understand your answers, so it's worth including if the FAQs are visible on the page.
How do I test my schema?
Paste your page URL or the code into Google's Rich Results Test or the Schema.org validator (linked next to the output). Fix any errors, and check that the details match what's visible on your page.
